and also because i haven’t posted in forever and need to make a note on my computer desk to do this more often…

25 Random Things (about me…duh!)

1. i can’t snap, and only in the last two years have been able to wink
with my left eye ( before that, it was all right eye, baby!)

2. i live with many plants- too many some might say… i say never enough!

3. i wish every day i had a real garden of my own

4. i have found many of the things teachers have said to me over the
years are true indeed- yes, the trees do speak to me, and i love it!

5. i miss so much having a cat in my life

6. the first animal to ‘pick’ me was pokey- we communicated in a way
that still amazes me to this day. with a glance or small action, i knew
what she wanted (i was trained by the cat:). and she told me before she
died.

7. i could not live without the mountains, ocean and forest.

8. i have an over abundance of random information stored in my head and
get silly excited when i learn something new… just ask about the
sperm whales!!

9. i have a bear. his name is taddy (because i couldn’t say ‘teddy’
when i first met him). and he has slept with me since before i remember
and this is accepted by dave. taddy’s head almost fell off once and my
mom sewed it back on with dental floss. it has remained securely in
place since. taddy goes with me on long trips and has a big scar on the
right side of his tummy

10. i love malt vinegar. i’m quite certain it is genetic

11. i have been playing ‘gold rush’ scratch and wins since my grandpa
used to buy them for me and my bro when we were little, from the
lottery kiosk at evergreen mall. the most i’ve ever won is $10

12. we used to go for walks in the rain at night with no shoes across cloverdale

13. tornado was the first brand of beer i every really drank (read: got drunk on)

14. my favorite book is ‘lost souls’ by poppy z. brite

15. i like cow. i don’t eat cow because cow dislikes me

16.once upon a time, not that long ago, the ocean sang for me on a warm
rainy night and gave me a giant sunflower that lasted for three weeks.

17. i love feeding the birds. i am also easily hypnotized by green moss- i can’t explain it.

18. my favorite meal is chips, peas, steak, cooked onion, an egg and a
slice of buttered bread cooked for me by my grandma and thoroughly
dosed in malt vinegar.

19. i stopped evolving at SNES

20. am fascinated by insects, plant physiology and mushrooms

21. i’m sure i’ll never really grow up, and i am very kewl with this

22. i am addicted to pillows- many live with me

23. i recently came to understand how awe can be inspired by a catholic cathedral (one dedicated to a woman no less!)

24. i feel most comfortable and at home on galiano island

25. i do actually like the rain- still

and as a bonus:

i have recently come to realize my appreciation for absence- or the beauty of negative spaces.

Four Things i did today:

1. Beat down temptation with a baseball bat and did not crawl back into the warm bed with my sexy warm boyfriend… then dragged my ass to work.
2. Worked all day in the miserable drizzling weather… and somewhere along the way gave my shin muscles a good work out cuz they’s aching now!
3. Had a couple great bitch sessions with two of the guys I work with… I swear, they’re like old hens!
4. Came home to a super yummy home cooked dinner in a warm apartment with cozy pj’s and a still sexy warm boyfriend waiting for me (and the vacuuming was done, the garbage taken out and the dishes put away!)

four things on my to do list

1. read all those books I haven’t finished yet
2. Finish the landscape design for my mums friend
3. do my papers for TPOC… I will get them done!! (no, blogging is not time I could be using to write these papers… pashah!)
4. Get my Halloween costume together

four of my guilt pleasures

1. foot, leg and back pets
2. chocolate/ pad tai (both are equally yummy in different flavour categories and both are just as fattening!)
3. whiskey
4. zoning out with the tv

1. I have a (no, not unhealthy obsession!! shush!) thing for zombies… they exist!! and stuff and I will not ramble!
2. I have a real problem with rambling and/ or tangents

4. I regularly let my huge pothos plant wilt…

Saturday Evening

Well, Dave’s just picked up a new movies to watch for the evening, The Happening by m.night shamalamdingdong, I’ve heard mixed reviews, but i’m still looking forward to seeing it. We watched You Don’t Mess With the Zohan last night. I thought it was pretty funny!
Today we were going to go for a bike ride, but left it a bit too late. instead we went to a shop called Bodacious on main st, and I bought a pair of jeans (flippin’ expensive, but they actually FIT me! this is a very rare occurrence indeed..) and I picked up a new jacket for the colder months. Quite nice actually. We also stopped by the Party Bazzar on 6th (?) so I could check out their Halloween stuff. the place was packed! I didn’t bother getting anything. After we got home, Heather and Aaron stopped by with the kids and her sister in law. We went for a walk down to Denman to go to the cupcake shop, then to English bay to eat our cupcakes. I’ve heard so many raves about that place, but really, I could make a better cupcake…But the beach was nice. Quite chilly though, but that’s ok, means less people!

Tomorrow we’re going to watch Quaratine at the theater in Langley, I’m looking forward to it! Then turkey dinner at my bros place. And in the time in between, trying to get my papers done for TPOC… one day! I’ve got about two weeks left I think, but I’d prefer to get then done sooner rather than later…
